Proceedings:

  1. Spring Fair
  • This year’s Spring Fair was a great success. The Spring Fair made €3,600 for the school. A big thanks to everyone for their support and help on the day and also for selling raffle tickets!
  • It was suggested that we should increase the price of face painting from €1 up to €2 in future, because it is quite time consuming.
  • It was also suggested that there should be an increase in the price of cake, because so much effort goes into baking them.
  • The Bouncy Castle for next year should be booked now. We should be able to book a bigger, more impressive one for next year, since we will have more space in the new school premises.
  • It was also suggested that in future the workshops should have a later time slot.
  • In the coming year, it was suggested, there should be monthly meetings to help prepare, in order to make the first Spring Fair in the new building fantastic. It would be great if more parents could offer help and participate.

  1. Homework Policy
  • The Homework Policy for the school was sent out with the last newsletter. It was reviewed in the meeting.

  1. New School Building
  • Work will commence in mid-July to prepare the school for our move in the new school year.
  • The building contracts are out for tender.
  • The Department of Education has agreed to finance the painting of the interior, the washing of the exterior and the replacement of any broken windows.

  1. Sports Day and Pot Luck
  • Sports Day and Pot Luck will be on the 26th June in the Áras Bóthar na Trá.
  • Assembly will be held first followed by Sports and then Pot Luck at 1:30pm.
  • Junior Infants are asked to bring desserts.
