Assembly on Monday

Everyone is invited to attend a special assembly that will take place at our school on Monday, 11th January at 12.30.  As part of the 1916 Centenary Celebrations representatives of the Defense Forces will present an Irish flag to our school.  Please join us if you can.

 

After-School Clubs

A new term of after-school clubs will resume next week.  It is a fairly short term, so the number of sessions is less than last term.  A sign-up sheet is posted on the notice board by the senior infant coat hooks.  You can sign up for any class, whether or not your child took part last term.  Parents are asked to pay the club leaders for the entire term at the end of the first session.  Details of the classes are below:

Monday – Music with Lisa

10 sessions – beginning on Monday, 11th January and ending on Monday, 14th March – €50

Tuesday – Arts and Crafts with Sylvia

10 sessions – beginning on Tuesday, 12th January and ending on Tuesday, 15th March – €60

Wednesday – Capoeria with Lisa

8 sessions – beginning on Wednesday, 13th January (no class on 17th February) and ending on Wednesday, 9th March – €40

Thursday – Capoeria with Lisa

8 sessions – beginning on Thursday, 14th January and ending on Thursday, 10th March – €40

Friday – Basketball with Vivienne

8 sessions – beginning on Friday, 15th January and ending on Friday, 11th March – €40

 

Spare Change

Sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to our coin collection for the Simon Community.  We raised just under €150!

 

End-of-Term Celebration

Many thanks to everyone who attending our end-of-term assembly and who contributed to our shared meal together.  It was a great ending to our first term.

Healthy Eating Policy

A draft of the healthy eating policy put together by Matt was circulated and approved by those present, it is now to be sent to parents for approval.

Social Event

Karen informed the committee that the Knocknacarra Community Centre is booked up until April. It was agreed to have a social event in the school, on Sunday January 31st from 13.00 to 15.00.

The meeting finished at 20.00.  The next meeting to be held on Wednesday 20th January at 19.00.
