Parent-Teacher Association Meeting

The next Parent-Teacher Association meeting takes place tomorrow morning, Monday, 12th January at 9.00 at the school.  This will be a hybrid meeting, and parents who are not able to attend in person can join online.

Breakfast Club Charges

To ensure the sustainability of the Breakfast Club going forward, the fee will be raised to €4 per morning effective from the beginning of February.  This is the first increase since the establishment of the Breakfast Club over 10 years ago.  This increase will ensure we can continue to provide this service to the families of our school.

Parking at Drop-off and Collection

Continued thanks for your cooperation in making the traffic in the morning and afternoons go smoothly.  It is important that everyone takes their time and exercises great caution, not just at the immediate vicinity of the school but also at the entries to the neighbouring estates as well as the junction and pedestrian crossing at Cappagh Rd.  The PTA is working to address traffic safety in consultation with local councillors, but the best thing everyone can do is slow down and be mindful of other vehicles and pedestrians.

Hot Lunches

We had a provisional date of 9th February for the transition to the new hot lunch provider, Bradbury and Connolly.  In the meantime, we will continue to have the Carambola meals.  Full details regarding the transition will be communicated soon.

Tráth na gCeist

Ar an Aoine, bhí tráth na gceist ar siúl sa scoil.  D’eagraigh an coiste Gaelbhratach é, agus comhghairdeas leis na buaiteoirí!  (On Friday, we had a table quiz in Irish.  It was organised by the Gaelbhratach Committee.  Congratulations to the winners!)

Afterschool Clubs

The new term of afterschool clubs commences tomorrow.  There are spaces available in most clubs, and registration can be completed at the office.

First Class has been learning about Anders Celsius, and they compared temperatures inside and outside the building.  They also made predictions about which rooms in the school are warmest and coldest, and with the help of 5th Class they collected temperature data from around the school.
