Parent-Teacher Meetings
We look forward to meeting parents on Tuesday, 25th November from 13.45-19.00. A sign-up sheet with available appointment times will be posted on Monday afternoon. Please sign up for a time that suits you. If none of the times work for you, please let Matt and Áine know so that we can find a different time for the meeting.
Board of Management
On Monday all families will receive a ballot for the election for the two parent nominees to the Board of Management. (Apologies for the delay.) Please return the ballots in the attached envelopes no later than Friday, 14th November, 13.30, by placing them in the post box at the entrance to the school.
After-school Clubs
All three after-school clubs are up and running. It is not too late to join any of them.
- Music and Movement on Mondays with Fiona
- Visual Art on Tuesdays with Sylvia
- Capoeria on Thursdays with Lisa
Aistear
Inspired by the visit from the firefighters before the break, we have turned the home corner into a fire station for imaginative play. We will talk about fire safety as well as have our first fire drill next week.
New Sports Equipment
We have purchased some new sports equipment including hurls, beanbags, balls, a tunnel, ladders and spots. Michael, a qualified GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) coach came to the school this week to show us how to use some of the equipment. The class also discussed what they would like to see in the yard for outdoor play. Their suggestions were very good, and we’ll look forward to combining them with those suggested by parents very soon.
Gaeilge
We have been learning about how to say how we are feeling.
Tá áthas orm. (taw awhuss ur-um) – I am happy.
Tá brón orm. (taw brone ur-um) – I’m sad/I’m sorry
Tá fearg orm. (taw far-ug ur-um) – I’m angry.
Tá eagla orm. (taw ah-gluh ur-um) – I’m afraid.
