After-school Clubs
We are delighted to have three after-school clubs at the school, depending on interest among families. The fees to participate will range from €5-7 per hourly session. They will take place from 13.30-14.30.
Music and Movement on Mondays with Fiona who has experience has a degree in community music and experience working with many groups in Galway.
Visual Art on Tuesdays with Sylvia who has taught classes at Bushypark National School for a number of years.
Capoeria on Thursday with Lisa who has been teaching classes at Galway Educate Together for several years.
We hope
to have the first sessions before the mid-term break.

Coats
We’ve been very lucky with the weather so far, but as it is getting a little colder please your child has a coat each day so they are comfortable during yard time when we are outside. It might be a good idea to help practice putting on and taking off the coat to build independence.

Open House
A reminder that we will be having an Open House for the school on Thursday, 16th October from 18.00-19.00. Everyone is most welcome to attend this event to see the school and to celebrate the establishment of our school!

Board of Management
The first Board of Management of the school will be constituted next month and will be in place for one year. Both Matt and Áine will be members as well as two patron nominees chosen by Educate Together. In addition, two parents will be elected, one male parent nominee and one female parent nominee. All parents are eligible for these positions. Once these six members meet for the first time,
two community nominees will be chosen. Any parents interested in running for a position as a parent nominee on the Board should give their names to Matt or Jarlath, our school manager (jarlath.munnelly@educatetogether.ie). The election for the two parent nominees will take place before the end of the month. Names must be submitted by Thursday, 16th October.

Aistear
We had our first week with our different play centres. We’ll continue the same centres until the end
of the month and then introduce new ones next month.

Hello in Many Languages
We’d ask parents to let us know which languages are spoken by the members of your family
so that our notice board of languages includes everyone.

An Ghaeilge
We’ve been practicing the following phrases
Seo duit. (Shuh gwitch) – Here you go (when giving someone something).
Go raibh maith agat. (Guh rev mah uh-guht) – thank you
