PTA Meeting
A reminder that the next meeting will be tomorrow 16th December 2015 at 19.00. We’ll plan a social event for families that will take place in the new year. We’ll also look at a draft of a Healthy Eating Policy.
Attendance
Parents are reminded to phone the school landline (see above) in the event that your child will not be able to attend school unexpectedly. Thanks for your cooperation!
Parent Volunteers
The form seeking parent volunteers will be added to your child’s homework folder today. Please return it to school in the folder. Many thanks in advance for your support.
Spare Change
There has been a very good response to our collection. You have until Monday to send in spare change (especially those obsolete 1 and 2c coins) between now and the end of the term. Money raised will go to the Galway Simon Community. A plastic jar is in each classroom. We’ll announce the amount raised at the end-of-term assembly.
End-of-Term Celebration
A reminder that we will mark the end of the term with a whole-school assembly on Tuesday, 22nd December at 11.30. There will be festive songs and stories. All parents and family members are invited to join us. This will be followed by a potluck meal. If you are able, please consider bringing something to share. To ensure we have a good mix of things, a sign-up sheet was posted today on the notice board by the senior infant coat hooks.
Class Lists
The class lists will be in homework folders tomorrow or Thursday once we confirm the details with each family. These will allow parents to contact each other to arrange playdates, birthday parties and other celebrations. We’d kindly ask all families to respect each other’s privacy and use the lists for this purpose only.
Collaborative Creativity
Each class has been working on creating things together. Senior Infants made giant circle paintings in small groups. Junior Infants created patterns using shape blocks.
