  • 1st and 2nd Class – Tuesday, 9th December, 13:15
  • 3rd and 4th Class – Thursday, 11th December, 13:15
  • 5th and 6th Class – Wednesday, 10th December, 13:15

Accommodation Required

In the new year we will be welcoming two Spanish students who will complete a work experience in our school.  We have a long-standing partnership with the University of Cantabria.  The two women require accommodation from the beginning of February to the end of May.  They require a room and access to a shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.  They receive a stipend to pay for the accommodation.  If you or someone else you know is in a position to provide such accommodation, please speak to Matt or reply to this email.

Toy Donations

If you are doing a clear out at home and have any baby dolls or jigsaws that your child no longer uses, we would happily give them a new home at school.  Thank you for your support.

Illness

As we enter the winter season, we know that absences will take place due to illness.  If your child is absent, please log on to Aladdin Connect to notify us of the reason for the absence.

Intercultural Family Event

Sincere thanks to all the families who attended and particularly those who shared food, language, dress and traditions from their cultures.  It was a most enjoyable evening and a great chance for people in our learning community to get to know each other better.  You can view many pictures from the event on our school Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/KETNS.

World Children’s Day

The entire school community had a great day marking World Children’s Day.  The highlight was the presentation of our Gold Award and the recognition that we are a UNICEF Child Rights School.  The Student Council and Learn Together Committee organised a range of activities linked to children’s rights, and we had a fantastic assembly.  Particular thanks to the staff members and children over the years who have contributed to this achievement.  More pictures are available on our website.

Sixth Class and Junior Infants performed a special song together at Friday’s assembly.

Open Evening

We hosted a well-attended Open Evening for prospective parents last Thursday.  Particular thanks goes to the 6th Class Ambassadors who attended that night to share information about the school and give tours.  A reminder that the enrolment window is open until early January, and families of prospective new students who have siblings enrolled in the school must apply on time to benefit from priority offers for our new class of Junior Infants.

Fire Engine Visit

We recently had a surprise visit to the school by the fire brigade.  Children got an opportunity to use the fire hose, climb into the engine cabin and meet with the firefighters.
