Afterschool Clubs
The afterschool clubs will resume on Monday (21st September). Thanks to everyone who signed up on the notice board. Due to high demand, there will be two capoeira sessions, with a max of 10 in any group. Therefore, please sign up for your preference for either Wednesday or Thursday. Basketball will be on Friday. A reminder that parents are asked to pay for the term up front to each club leader at the first session. There will be 12 sessions of each class between now and the end of December, with the exception of the visual arts classes which will have 10 sessions ending on 1st December.

Coffee Morning
Many thanks to everyone who supported the Coffee Morning on Friday. A special thanks to all the kind volunteers who baked delicious things to share! Sincere thanks for supporting Galway Hospice, and we hope it was a good opportunity to meet others in our school community.
Board of Management
Like all national schools, our school is managed by an eight-member board of management. All Boards of Management in all schools will begin a new four-year term in November. Louise Shields, chairperson, and Maggie Hall, treasurer, will continue as patron nominees. Matt and Áine will continue to be Board members as staff nominees. Two parent nominees, one female and male, must be chosen by the parent community in an election. Many thanks to Waqas Khawaja and Vajeeha Ali who have been serving on our Board in this capacity. Any parent is eligible to be nominated. Nominations must be received by Monday, 5th October. The election will take place before the mid-term break. Please speak to Matt if you have any questions.
Parent-Teacher Association
Another important organisation that will play a central role in supporting our school community is the parent-teacher association. It is proposed that we have an organisational meeting to prepare for the formal establishment of a parent-teacher association. The first meeting will take place in the school on Wednesday, 30th September at 19.00. All parents are cordially invited to attend.
Gaeilge
Learning the Irish language is an integral part of our school day. Useful phrases and vocabulary will be included in the newsletters on occasion to help you use some of the language, whether you studied during your school days or haven’t spoken it before.
Cé hé tusa? (kay hay tu-suh) – Who are you?
Mise Matt (mish-uh Matt) – Who are you?
