Break and Early Dismissal
Sincere thanks to everyone for a fantastic first term. It was a busy one, and particular gratitude goes to the staff working in the autism classes who established them so quickly. A big thank you to all the staff for their efforts over the last few months. Sincere thanks to the parent body, the Parent-Teacher Association and the Board of Management for providing support and direction. And most of all, thank you to all the children who have worked so hard and contribute everyday to ongoing development of our learning community. We hope everyone has a relaxing and restful break, and we look forward to seeing you all in the new year! A reminder that tomorrow (Friday, 19th December) we have an early dismissal at 11.50 for infants and 12.00 for all other classes. We’ll return to school on Monday, 5th January.
Lice Checks
A few cases of head lice have been reported in a couple of classes. A friendly reminder to all families to carry out regular weekly lice checks and to treat accordingly if lice is detected. Many thanks for your assistance with this.
Parking at Drop-off and Collection
Sincere thanks for your continued support in ensuring that drop-off and collection times are safe and efficient. A reminder that parents are asked not to park in the cul-de-sac at the end of the road and to be mindful about not parking at the bend in the road as you turn towards the school.
End-of-Term Assemblies and Potlucks
All the classes presented their learning in special end-of-term assemblies. The music and poetry shared was fantastic. Thank you to all the staff who helped prepare the children for these events. Also, many thanks to the parents who attended, brought food to share and helped tidy up.

Choir
The school choir visited the St Francis Day Centre on Monday. They sang and showed great kindness in their interactions with everyone. The choir then sang in the Eyre Square Shopping Centre and then Shop Street. They raised over €400 for UNICEF. Many thanks to the parents who came along to support the choir.

Hot Lunches
The tendering process for the provider of the hot lunches has now been completed. Special thanks to the parents and staff members who put in a great amount of effort in completing this task. It will take some time to make the transfer to the new provider, and until the middle of February we will continue to receive hot meals from Carambola. Once further details are confirmed, we’ll inform all the families.
