Coffee Morning in Aid of Galway Hospice
All parents are invited to the coffee morning in aid of Galway Hospice tomorrow, Friday, 22nd September from 9.00-10.30. We’d kindly that those staying park at Cappagh Park to ensure the traffic at drop off flows smoothly. We’d also appreciate any donations of baked items for the occasion. Everyone is invited to make a small monetary donation to support Galway
Parent Teacher Association Meeting
The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) will have their first meeting of the year on Tuesday, 26th September at 19.00 at the school. All parents are invited to join us. We will look back over last year, discuss plans for the new year and schedule an AGM for October.
Traffic Management Plan
Many thanks for your continued support with the new traffic management plan. A reminder that we are asking parents to park in the direction of the flow of traffic only. Thanks for your patience to make drop-off and collection safer.
In our school we have committees that drive various initiatives and projects in our school. Currently, they are comprised of staff members and children, but we would like to invite parents to participate as well. The meetings happen monthly on Thursday afternoons for 40 minutes. This year we will have seven committees: Active School, Creative Schools, Gaelbhratach (Irish
language), STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), Student Council (who lead the Child Rights School initiative) and a new one focused on the Learn Together Curriculum and our school ethos. If you are interested in participating, please speak to Claudia who will assist you in completing the required Garda vetting process. If you have any questions about the committees, please reply to this email.
Board of Management
Our current Board of Management’s term is coming to an end, and it is time to form a new one. This is the main governing organisation for our school community. Two members of the Board of
Management are parents (one male, one female) who are directly elected by the parent body. Therefore, the Board wishes to invite parents to express an interest in standing for nomination and election. All parents of children currently enrolled in the school are eligible to be nominated and stand for election. You may email Matt or Claudia by Friday, 5th October to express your
interest. If you have any questions about Board membership, please speak to Matt.
