Walking Wednesdays

Don’t forget about the walking bus from Cappagh Park every Wednesday leaving the car park at 8.30.  It would be really great to increase the participation.  The children walk to school with Ann and parent volunteers.  Please join us!


Creative Schools

Please see the attached information about the Creative Schools Project.  We are having a consultation session for parents and teachers faciliated by our Creative Associate, Dee O’Reilly, on Wednesday, 28th November from 14.30-15.30.  Please join us!


Parent Teacher Meetings

Parent-Teacher Meetings will take place on Thursday, 29th November and Thursdsay, 6th December.  Please sign up for an appointment on the door of your child’s classroom.  If the times don’t suit, please speak with your child’s class teacher.

Scholastic Book Order

Leaflets for the Scholastic Book Order will be sent home tomorrow, one per family.  You can also browse and make purchases online at  http://schools.scholastic.ie/knocknacarra-etns.  A portion of the sales are returned to the school so that we can buy books.  The deadline for turning in orders will be Friday, 30th November.


Galway Science & Technology Exhibition

We would highly recommend families check out the Galway Science and Technology Exhibit that is taking place on Saturday, 25th November from 10.00-16.00.  This is a free event, and more information can be found at www.galwaysciencefestival.ie.


Science Week

We are in the midst of Science Week, and all the classes have been doing different investigations.  Here are some pictures from of the Infants.  We will have special workshops and an assembly about space on Friday.


Senior Infants tested the effects of different soaps on mixtures of baking soda and vinegar.

Junior Infants tested which liquids are best at cleaning copper coins.
