Flag Ceremony

We were delighted to welcome two members of the Defense Forces, the Mayor of Galway, city councillors and local politicians to the school on Monday.  The Defense Forces delivered a copy of the Proclamation as well as an Irish flag as part of the 100-year anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising.  We learned about the flag and the Proclamation.  Kate did a super job of reading part of the Proclamation.  We sang for our visitors and has a small reception afterwards.  Our flag will be officially flown on 16th March as part of Proclamation Day.

  • im (im) – butter
  • bainne (ban-yuh) – milk
  • subh (suv) – jam
  • úll (ool) – apple

D’ith na naíonáin bheaga tósta le subh agus im. (The junior infants ate toast with jam and butter.)
