Family Potluck and Disco
Please join us for a fun family social event that will take place at the school on Sunday, 31st Janaury from 13.00 to 15.00. The Parent-Teacher Association is organising a potluck and disco for parents and children of our school. A sign-up for the potluck is on the notice board by the senior infant coat hooks. There is also a sign-up to help in the disco. We hope this will be a chance for families to get to know each other and to help build our sense of community. Please join us!
School Photographer
County Photos will be coming to the school on Wednesday, 3rd February. They will take photos of each child as well as class photos.
Visit to Aldi on Monday
On Monday both classes will walk over to the nearby Aldi for a visit to link in with our Aistear theme for the month, the supermarket. Many thanks to Kael’s dad, Modestas, for arranging the visit!
Scholastic Book Club Moves Online
In the past we’ve sent out fliers for the Scholastic Setanta book orders. This is a great way to find reading materials for your family, and each purchase supports the school. Scholastic has moved to having only online orders. The books can be delivered free to the school.
Visit http://schools.scholastic.ie/knocknacarra-etns to browse the latest books and order online. For every €1 you spend on this month’s Book Club, our school will earn 20¢ in Scholastic Rewards. Please place your order online by February 1st, 2016.
Teddy Bears’ Hospital
The junior infants and their teddies had a great time at the teddy bears’ hospital. All the teddies were examined, had x-rays and were given prescriptions. We hope all the teddies are feeling much better! Many thanks to the Sláinte Society at NUI Galway who organise this great event every year.
