Parent-Teacher Meetings

Parent-teacher meetings will take place during the week before the autumn mid-term break.  To assist families with siblings, all teachers will be having meetings on Wednesday, 22nd October.  Other meetings will take place during the rest of the week.  You will be able to make an appointment using Aladdin Connect.  To assist families with siblings, the appointment slots will be released to them first on Tuesday afternoon, 7th October.  For the rest of the families, appointments will be released on Thursday morning, 9th October.

Carvings in the Woods

It has certainly been a stormy and wet first few weeks of school, but several classes were able to visit the Cappagh Park and Barna Woods on the few dry days.  Some of the classes met the artist who has been transforming some of the fallen trees into amazing sculptures.

Ukulele

We’re delighted to have Francesco from Music Generation back to work with 4th and 5th class to do ukulele lessons.  A reminder to those classes to bring your ukuleles every Monday.

Cross Country

Twenty-four children represented the school at the recent Cross Country Semi-Finals at Galway Race Course.  Despite a lot of wet weather, they all ran fantastic races, and we’re delighted that one of our competitors will represent the school at the Finals next week.  Well done to all our runners!

Halloween Fancy Dress

It is our tradition to have a fancy dress day on the last day before the mid-term.  Children (and staff and parents!) are welcome to wear fancy dress.  We only ask that no one has anything that resembles a weapon as part of their costumes.  It also is One Day Together, the annual fundraising day for Educate Together to assist the organization in supporting the existing schools as well as support opening more schools.  Families are invited to make a contribution on the day.
