We look forward to welcoming back everyone and a very special welcome to the new families who will be joining our learning community, particularly our Junior Infants. We look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday morning. Breakfast Club will be in operation from 8.00. Anyone is welcome to avail of this service. The fee is €3 per morning. The doors officially open at 8.40. Infants can go directly to their classrooms. First Class and above will gather in the halla where they will be supervised until going to the classrooms at 8.50, the official start time. It will be a full day for everyone except our Junior Infants who will finish up at 12.00 for the first week and a half. Afterschool @ KETNS will be in operation. We look forward to a great year!
Walking Bus and Parking
As there is limited parking at the school, we’d strongly encourage anyone who wishes to linger on Thursday or other days to park at Cappagh Park and to walk over. We will organise a walking bus on Thursday. A staff member will be at the park at 8.40 to lead any walkers to the school. As always, we’d encourage everyone to walk or cycle whenever possible. If you do cycle, we’d encourage you to be sure to lock the bike with a good lock to ensure its safety. And a friendly reminder that parents should not drive into the school yard at drop-off or collection time. Many thanks for your cooperation!
Sincere thanks to everyone who has paid the school expenses for the coming year. For those who haven’t, the amount for the 2019-2020 year will be €90 for Junior and Senior Infants and €100 for all other classes. The increase is partly in response to increases in costs of books and materials but also because all children will now receive 24-hour personal accident insurance. As always, please contact Matt or Claudia in confidence to discuss a payment plan if you wish. The school’s bank account details are as follows:
Account Name: Knocknacarra Educate Together NS
Bank and Branch: Bank of Ireland, Salthill
Sort Code: 903840
Account Number: 69960923
Pupil Personal Accident Insurance
From this autumn forwards, all children enrolled in the school are now in receipt of personal accident insurance. This covers any accident or injury on a 24-hour basis in addition to all school-related activities. If you have questions, please contact Matt or Claudia.
We will announce the afterschool clubs once they are organised in a week or two. They will begin in the third full-week of school.
While there has been plenty of growth in the garden over the summer, we need to set about harvesting and tidying. Some will take place during the school day, but it would be great if anyone is free to help on Tuesday, 3rd September from 14.30 to 16.30.
