Closures to Facilitate Professional Development
The school will be closed to support ongoing professional development for teachers related to the implementation of the new Primary Language Curriculum. A full-day closure will take place on Thursday, 16th March. A half-day closure (from mid-day) will take place on Friday, 28th April. Afterschool@ KETNS will be running a one-day camp on 16th March and will open at 12.00 on the 28th April.

Ethos Survey
The School’s Self Evaluation (SSE) Team are gathering information on Ethical Education and the Learn Together Curriculum in our school. We would appreciate it if you took a few minutes to complete this online survey for us, if you haven’t already:

The more information we gather, the more beneficial the process will be to the children, staff and wider school community. The children in 1st to 3rd Class have filled in their surveys in school. 4th Class to 6th Class will fill in their surveys next
week.

Parking at Drop-off and Collection Times

Many thanks for your continued patience and cooperation with drop-off and collection. A reminder that cars should not park up on the paths in any way
that would block them for pedestrians.

Beach Clean-up
The Green School Committee with the help of 6th Class went to Silverstrand to do a beach clean-up. They worked very hard to remove any litter and improve the cleanliness of this beautiful location.

Visit to City Centre
5th and 6th Class attended a performance by Branar at the Town Hall Theatre entitled “The Table”. The classes enjoyed it very much, and it was a great performance for discussing key events in Irish history. They also received a fantastic graphic novel. After the performance, 5th Class took a walking tour of Galway City and 6th Class visited St Nicholas Church to learn about this ancient 700-year-old building.
