Raffle
Many thanks to everyone who purchased raffle tickets. All the winners have been notified. Just under €2000 was raised for the school which will continue to support special sports and arts programmes in the school.
Parent-Teacher Association Meeting
The final PTA meeting of this academic year will take place on Wednesday, 9th June at 19.00. The link for the meeting is available upon request. We will talk about a draft Parental Involvement Policy, look back over the year and plan for events in the coming school year. All are welcome to join the meeting!
Portfolios
Children will be bringing home their portfolios to share with you this week. This is an opportunity to sit down with your child and celebrate their learning over the past year. For many classes, they need to be returned to the school by the end of the week, particularly children in Junior Infants, 1st Class, 3rd Class and 5th Class. If your child’s teacher asks you to keep the portfolio at home, please keep them safe over the coming years so they can be used as part of a project at the end of 6th Class to look back on your child’s learning during the eight years of primary school.
Parking at Drop-off and Collection
Many thanks for your continued cooperation with the drop-off and collections. There are plans to address this more formally starting in the autumn. In the meantime, we’d kindly ask parents to be sure that the entrances to the housing estates are always kept clear and that parents drive with caution and care.
Green School
We are delighted to have submitted our application for our first Green Flag. Many thanks to all the children who have been Committee Members, Sarah-Jane and Matt and the parents who continue to tidy the grounds on a weekly basis.
Special Sports Classes
Using part of the money raised in the raffle, three special physical education lessons have been organised for all the classes. Last week each class did Zumba on Tuesday and Yoga (bilingually in both Irish and English) on Friday. We have one more session coming up later this month. Next year we look forward to gymnastic lessons too.
