Aistear
We finished up our current rotation of Aistear activities. Children played in the home corner, explored the sand table, created with the polydrons and built with the giant cardboard blocks. Our new activities will start next week.
Coffee Morning
Many thanks to everyone who came to the coffee morning and especially those who baked so many nice things! Over €170 was raised for Galway Hospice.
Photographer
Don’t forget – County Photos will be coming to the school on Tuesday, 11th October to take photos.
Scholastic Book Club
There is still one more week to purchase books. Every purchase helps our school by resources for the school. You can place an order online by visiting http://schools.scholastic.ie/knocknacarra-etns or return a paper order form with payment to Claudia. All orders must be received by Friday, 7th October.
Barna Woods
The entire school will visit Barna Woods on Monday, 10th October. We will do a number of activities. Parents are welcome to join us. A permission form will be sent home this week.
Baboró
Children in Senior Infants and First Class will be attending a performance as part of the Baboró Children’s Festival on Friday, 14th October. A permission form will be sent out early next week. The Junior Infants will make their own outing to an event in early January.
Parents of Senior Infants
On Friday morning (7th October) at 8.50 there will be a short meeting to explain how to support your child’s guided reading which will become a regular part of homework. The meeting will take just 15-20 minutes.
