Afterschool @ KETNS
Parents are kindly reminded that they should complete the application form and pay the required deposit to ensure their children have secured places in the afterschool as soon as possible. Wioleta is available every afternoon from 13.15 to answer any questions.
School Fees
Over the summer we will purchase all books and supplies for your child for the coming year. We hope this is helpful to parents. The fees for junior and senior infants will remain €80. Because there are more books that also happen to be more expensive, the fees for first class will be €90. This may be paid directly into the school account. The details are on a note that will be placed in your child’s homework folder on Tuesday. We’d kindly ask parents to pay €40 now so school books and materials can be purchased over the summer to be ready for 31st August. Then, the balance should be paid to the school by 1st September.
School Tour
A permission form for the school tour was sent home in homework folder or will be given to parents tomorrow morning. The tour will take place on Friday, 24th June. The cost of the tour is €12 which includes the admission for the aquarium and Monkey Business as well as the bus transport. This can be paid in cash or directly into the school’s bank account.
Sports Day and Family Potluck
We will have a Sports Day and Family Potluck on Monday, 27th June. All parents are invited to join us for the occasion. Please bring something to share to the family potluck afterwards. Also, children and parents are invited to wear a jersey representing their favourite team. The sports events will begin at 11.00. The potluck will begin at 12.45.
Last Day of School
The final day of this school year will be Tuesday, 28th June. Please join us for our assembly for all parents at 11.30. Dismissal will be at 12.00.
Upcoming Show for Children
Martin’s (Senior Infants) family is presenting a performance called Thrilltoon’s Trials at the Town Hall Theatre on 2nd July at 12.00. Thrilltoon’s Trials is a very exciting and fun show using puppets and characters to help children deal with certain issues like bullying and racism. The performance helps children to be more aware of dangers and assists with safety such as water safety and road safety. The RNLI and Bunmahon Inshore Lifeboat have given some guidelines on safety at sea and the Irish Water Safety are providing us with further information and assistance on Steps to Safety at the Beach and at the Pool. Martin from Senior Infants will be investigating the RNLI’s boat and providing some safety tips too. As well as all this, professional actors, singers, musicians and puppeteers will ensure the children are singing along, excited and laughing their little heads off. Substantial donations will be given to the safety organisations involved. Children and families of the school are invited to attend the show with a special offer of 10% discount on individual tickets or a 25% discount a family ticket. To avail of these tickets please contact Ann Marie before the 24th of June. Normal ticket prices are €10 without discount.
