Pupil Portfolio Sharing

Each child in the school will share his or her portfolio with parents on Friday, 3rd June.  Parents will have the opportunity to have a 10-minute chat with your child’s class teacher.  An appointment sign-up will be posted on your child’s classroom door from Monday onwards.

 

Voluntary Contribution

Each family will receive a white envelope attached to a letter regarding voluntary contributions in your child’s homework folder this week.  We have been endeavoured to keep mandatory costs for families of our school as low as possible.  This has partly been possible due to the generous voluntary contributions made to our school community.  For example, this has allowed us to provide transport for our outings without passing on the cost to parents as well as purchase many items to support learning in our school.  Full details about how to make a contribution are explained in the letter.  Thanks, in advance, for your support.

 

Senior Infants’ First Stories

Over the past two weeks, senior infants have worked on writing their first stories.  The culmination of this process was reading them to the junior infants.  The books are displayed on the wall opposite the senior infant coat hooks.

 

Our Visit to Spiddal

Chuamar go dtí An Spidéal an Aoine seo caite agus bhí lá breá againn.  We had a fantastic visit to Spiddal on Friday.  The beautiful weather certainly helped!  We had great fun building sand castles, exploring the beach and playing games.  The walk along the promenade ended with ice cream before we headed to An Ceardlann.  It was great to visit the artists and learn about how they make their beautiful creations.  Many thanks to the parents who joined us for our outing.  A slide show from the outing can be found here.  Our official school tour will take place in June, and details will be provided soon.
