Portfolio Sharing Meetings

Over the next two weeks, each child will share his or her portfolio with parents.  This will be followed by an informal 10-minute parent-teacher meeting with the class teacher.  Sing-up sheets have been placed by each classroom door.  The meetings will take place during the school day according to the schedule below.  If you are unable to attend that day, please speak with your child’s class teacher to see if another appointment time can be arranged.

Friday, 12th May – Senior Infants

Thursday, 18th May – Junior Infants

Friday, 19th May – First Class

Visit to the Beach

On Monday all the classes will be heading to the beach.  We’ll leave school at 9.30, heading for the beach near Inverin.  Children are welcome to bring buckets and spades.  The day is expected to be sunny and warmer, so be sure to use sun cream, as required, and send in water for your child to drink.  They should also bring a lunch as we’ll have a picnic at the beach.  School dismissal will be at the normal time.

School Closures

The school will be closed on Tuesday, 9th May to facilitate a staff training day about the new Primary Language Curriculum.  Please contact Wioleta of Jenni if your child will attend the one-day camp that day.  The remaining holidays before the end of the school year are the June Bank Holiday and the following day (5th and 6th June).

Scholastic Book Club

Spring Fair

With all the money counted, the Spring Fair was a huge success.  We raised nearly €3000 for the school.  Sincere thanks to everyone!  The children will write thank you notes to all the businesses who made donations or other contributions for the event this week.

Cláir Arán

Chríochnaigh na páistí i rang a haon a gcláir arán.  Rinne siad arán le chéile chomh maith.  Míle buíochas le Mairtín Davy Ó Coisdealbha as an taithí iontach seo.

The children in first class finished their bread boards and made bread together.  Sincere thanks to Mairtín Davy Ó Coisdealbha for this great experience.
