School Fees

Parents are kindly asked to pay €40 towards your child’s school fees for 2017-2018 before the end of this school year so we can purchase all schoolbooks and materials prior to the start of the new school year.  The balance can be paid by September 1st.  Equally, you may pay the full amount now if you wish.  The fees for Senior Infants are €80, and the fees for 1st and 2nd Classes are €90.  The easiest way is to make a bank transfer into the school account, or you can pay cash to Claudia.  (Please use yours or your child’s name as the payment reference.)

After-school Clubs

Basketball will not take place tomorrow.  Instead the final session will be on Wednesday afternoon.  On Thursday, the music afterschool group will present some songs for parents beginning at 14.15.

 

Final Parent-Teacher Association Meeting

The final PTA meeting of this academic year will take place on Wednesday, 21st June at 19.00.  Plans for the Sports Day, end-of-term assembly and final potluck will be discussed.

 

Reports

End-of-year reports will be given to parents on Wednesday afternoon.  Please speak to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns.

 

Sports Day and End-of-Term Assembly

Our Sports Day will take place on Tuesday, 27th June at Áras Bóthar na Trá (Salthill-Knocknacarra GAA Club), where we had our end-of-term assembly in December.  Please speak to Matt or a member of the PTA if you would be willing to lead one of the sports activities.  The children will be taken to the venue by bus at 10.30.  After the Sports Day activities, we will have an assembly at 13.30.  Please note, this means the day will be longer for the children in infant classes.  The children will share some songs and poems from the year.  This will be followed by a potluck.  Families in Junior Infants are asked to bring a dessert, families from Senior Infants a savoury dish and families from First Class a salad.  Therefore, children do not need to bring a regular lunch that day.  A healthy snack and water should be brought that day.  Children can be collected from the assembly or a bus will bring children back to the school.   Please let your child’s teacher know if he or she will be returning to school after the potluck.

 

Last Day of School

The last day will be Wednesday, 28th June.  We’ll have disco and ice cream party.  There will be an early dismissal at 12.00.

 

School Tours

First Class had a great visit to Brigit’s Garden.  Tomorrow the Junior and Senior Infants will be going on their tour.  It would be a good idea to put on some sun cream and a hat.  Don’t forget to bring a drink and a lunch.  More photos are available here.
